Creating an edit/update form in a Processed Based app

I have a processed based app and created a start task form for the submitter to fill out. After it is submitted, a new record is created in the data entity.  I have modified the form to include a text box to be used as a search field. I also created an auto-lookup to locate the record in the data entity where the field matches the data entered into the search text box. The record is retrieved. When I edit the record and submit, a new record is created in the data entity. I'm trying to edit an existing record, not create a new record. What do you think I'm doing wrong?

  Hi Thomas,

  You can keep a flag set to true when edited an existing record, and based on this a condition will route the workflow accordingly either to create a record or update an existing record.

  Choose the Primary Data Source for the Application and map those fields on to your eform. Please refer the attached screen capture for reference. 

  Insertion and Updation is auto handled. No need to use the activity in the process.
