Rule to copy formula field into currency field

Hi, I found on a post on this forum because i want to have the currency option but also need a fomula im trying to copy the value of my formula field into a currency field via rule, what would this rule be, currently if i hardcode the set field value to a  number it works but as soon as i drop in the formula control variable from the menu it doesnt work, any ideas
