Use Main form controls in subform

I have created controls for use in my main form, then decided not to use them, and removed them from the main form. I would like to use them on a subform, but the control library does not show them. When i try to make a subform control with the same name as the unused main form control (Item5QTY), I am told the name is used. How can I put unused main form controls into a subform?

  From my experience I don't think this is possible. The subform and it's controls are separated into their own nodes.
