    Hi Sam,

The Exception "System.InvalidOperationException: Property:BillingAddressType__u of type:Pick List with value:Please Select from the Entity :CustomerMasterApplication__u" states that the value "Please select" which is passed for the picklist type column for the Entity "CustomerMasterApplication__u" has thrown exception :Core.DataEntity.PickListItemsidNotExistsinPickList.

"Please Select from the Entity" is not a single String. Here "Please Select" is the value alone that is being passed to BillingAddressType__u .

    Thank you.

Hi Chaitra - Our pick list has no values like "please select" or anything.  So I don't understand how the value got in there.  Maybe I don't understand your post, but it really just seems like a statement.  In my original post I acknowledge the two different strings/spellings.  I am more looking for explanations or where to look.

    Hi Sam,

In the image you have shared earlier shows that you want the default option "Please Select" to be displayed in the dropdown list control along with all other picklist items that you have created in your picklist. When you are submitting the form choosing the default option "please select" instead of any of the original picklist items that you have added in your picklist then the exception "System.InvalidOperationException: Property:'BillingAddressType__u' of type:Pick List with value:'Please Select' from the Entity :CustomerMasterApplication__u has thrown the following exception:Core.DataEntity.PickListItemsidNotExistsinPickList" will be thrown from the AgilePoint system and the instance creation fails. However as part of testing I could not pass 'Please Select' Value to the entity, when I select 'Please Select' in the dropdown (considering the field is not mandatory) and submit form the value is null in the schema.

Also I see that you have checked the "Is Required" option which will not allow you to submit the form without selecting a valid picklist item. I have attached images for your reference.

configuration details of dropdown list with picklist type:

With 'Please Select' Option in dropdown

Without  'Please Select' Option in dropdown

When 'Please Select' option is submitted when the field is made mandatory.

The underlining issue here was that the autolook up was not getting called.  The drop down was not getting populated, but the default value is "Please Select".  This is different when the auto look up gets called.  When the auto look up gets called and the user picks "Please Select" this saves a blank or null value to the entity.
