AgilePoint is ending Internet Explorer support. Here’s what you need to know.
The recent launch of AgilePoint v8.0 has introduced many powerful new features and strategic changes designed to simplify your business operations and make process automation effortless.
One such change is the announcement that AgilePoint v8.0 will no longer support the use of the Internet Explorer browser: IE 10 + 11 and earlier versions.
Why are we discontinuing support for IE?
We did not come to this decision lightly. The fact is: Microsoft stopped supporting older versions of IE in 2013 and has been running IE 11 in maintenance mode only since 2016.
From a development standpoint, IE simply cannot support modern technology requirements. This forces developers to write custom code to run in the IE browser environment, while supported browsers use open code standards.
Unfortunately, this code discrepancy directly impacts AgilePoint’s stability, performance, and your user experience.
How does this affect you?
Now, many of you have likely already made the transition from IE to Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or a similar modern browser. In which case, your experience with the AgilePoint platform won't change.
But, if you're still using the IE browser, you'll receive a 'Browser not supported' message when you try to use the AgilePoint platform.
What do you need to do?
Transitioning away from IE to a new browser is relatively simple and depends on your current AgilePoint license:
AgilePoint version 7.0 SU2.5 still supports IE 11 and can be used until you're ready to upgrade. Simply hold off on your upgrade until a new company-wide browser choice is in place. |
